HHS WEB

About WEB

WEB stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” and the primary purpose of the program is to help 7th graders successfully make the transition from elementary school to high school.

WEB makes a difference by increasing participation in school social events, improving school climate, giving students a greater feeling of acceptance, positively connecting 7th graders to HHS, allowing leaders to take on more self-initiated activities within their groups.

 What a WEB Leader does
WEB Leaders are trained to work with the incoming 7th graders who are entering HHS in the fall. After an extensive training, WEB Leaders will run the majority of the 7th grade class orientation, which is held in August shortly before school begins. Each WEB Leader will be given a small group of 7th graders to work with on orientation day and will also be asked to befriend and to help that group during the first week of school and with any challenges they may face. Periodically during the school year, WEB Leaders will meet again with their student groups to touch base, discuss problems, and plan social activities. We know the more contact a new student has with his/her WEB Leader the more successful he/she will be.
